Dr. Steven Nia, was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2009, and served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since the same time.
In addition to NIA EV, Steven also founded Digital Light in 2000. Digital Light is a global leading innovator of LED technology, specializing in energy efficient lighting solutions, based in Los Angeles, USA. Prior to that, Steven co-founded SolarLuLu, along with Angelina Leo. SolarLuLu is a solar technology company specialized in energy storage, battery management system (BMS), high efficiency, and new solar cell development.
Through his training, both as an attorney and computer engineering, Steven is an expert commentator, with national and global media experience, and has published numerous articles and opinion pieces. Steven is a frequent speaker on energy issues in national and global conferences, as well as other forums. Steven has consistently advocated investment in new and innovative R&D aimed at creating new energy sources, usage efficiency, storage, as well as the modernization of the electric grid infrastructure. The aim in pursuing such advanced technologies is to transform our energy culture into the next generation, through the use of sustainable and abundant natural resources. This should be the foundation to grow the economy and provide the transition to a sustainable future, at the same time.
Prior to founding the various technology companies, Steven practiced law, specializing in entertainment and technology law and served as the CEO and Chairman of the Law Offices of Nia & Associates, Beverly Hills, California, for over10 years. NIA and Associates provided expertise in joint venture arrangements, entertainment and intellectual property law, as well as corporate and contracts.
Steven also served as the CEO and chief business officer (CBO) at Yim, Yim, Davis & Weiss, a global law firm specialized in complex commercial & corporate agreements, agency & distribution law, headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
Steven earned his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University, and served as a member of the California State Bar, for over 10 years. Prior to law degree, Steven received his master’s in computer and information systems engineering from University of Michigan, as well as his bachelor’s degree, in electrical and computer engineering from the Lawrence Technology University.
